Great post and photos. And I sooooo relate. I also rarely get blisters, but have been in the midst of a couple through hikes with gnarly blisters that make you question everything!
Thanks Holly! Ugh seriously, why does the body sabotage us sometimes?? and it feels so silly too, how such a small little thing can be almost crippling
Great stuff! I long since stopped bothering to check weather around here. I might look real quick to make sure there aren't any big storm warnings, but otherwise, it is what it is. If I waited around for a great weather report I'd never go anywhere at all.
Do you have moleskin to put over your blisters while you walk? I use to use it, but the quality dropped pretty badly. Now, if I get blisters, or feel hot spots indicating I'm about to get some, I put duct tape over them and it helps a lot.
Thanks Sean! No moleskin but i did have these medicated patches that I was using and some wool patch things you could add to socks to help reduce friction. I'll have to try duct tape, that's brilliant!
This was everything you promised yesterday! I'm glad I signed up, thank you for the cow photos.
haha I'm glad! Thanks for subscribing and reading
p.s. more cow photos incoming on the next one :)
Why are cows so much cooler in Europe?
Right?!
Such a bummer you got blisters. I do not envy you guys walking in heavy rain, but the pictures are beautiful.
Yeah the rain was definitely not ideal, but made for some dramatic photos haha
Sounds brutal, but lovely photographs here. You captured the moors and colors of the landscape perfectly. Looking forward to the next installment.
Thanks Tom, I appreciate it! Next time I want to walk the moors a little earlier to see the full vibrancy of the purples - maybe august?

I love getting to a new city at night so you get to "see" it for the first time when you wake up in the morning.
Gorgeous, gorgeous. Worth the airline snafus, it looks like.
yeah that's so fun too, feels like two completely different cities. and then re-seeing that place at night when you have your bearings again.
and thank you! yes definitely worth the flight troubles.
Love this! Can’t wait for the next installment.
Thanks Tom!

I’m a big duct tape man too. On a longer hike, I just put it on in the morning pre-emptively.
